1. Bachelor of English Language

For training programs taught in English

• Graduated from high school abroad, equivalent to high school diploma in Vietnam or International Baccalaureate (IB) from score 26.
• IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.
• International students are native speakers (of languages used in studying, research, internship) or graduated from universities which languages used in studying that is exempt from language requirements.

For training programs taught in Vietnamese

• Graduated from Vietnamese high school diploma (in fulltime or continuing education) or graduated intermediate vocational diploma.
• Graduated intermediate vocational program but no high school diploma, the learners must study and finish high school credits according to the regulation.
• Graduated from high school abroad, equivalent to high school diploma in Vietnam.
• B2 in Vietnamese (level 4/6) of Vietnamese language ability framework for foreigners according to Circular No. 17/2015/TT-BGGDT dated 01 September 2015 promulgated by Minister of the Ministry of Education and Training (Appendix 1). If the learners don’t meet the requirement in Vietnamese, they have to attend Vietnamese class at Ho Chi Minh City Open University (E-Learning Center or Center for short courses)

2. Master program:

Theory and Methodology of English Language Teaching (Training program delivered by Ho Chi Minh City Open University)

• Graduated from University in the right major or in other close majors (Appendix 2).
• Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree delivered by foreign educational institutions must comply with the recognition procedures in accordance with the current regulations.
• Language proficiency requirement:

For Theory and Methodology of English language teaching major, learners are required IELTS certificate (Academic) from 6.5 and above delivered by an Educational Testing Service which is Internationally recognized within 2 years (24 months) up to the registration date.

3. Doctoral Program: Theory and Teaching method of English

- Bachelor degree with excellent grade or Master degree in the right major or other equivalent majors (bachelor degree or master degree issued by the International Educational Institutions must comply with recognition procedures in accordance with applicable regulations) (Appendix 2);

- Be the author of 01 article or report related to the intended research field, printed in science magazines or conference proceedings, specialized science seminars with critics for 03-year (36-month) term up to the registration date of enrollment.

- Language proficiency requirements:

• For learning programs using English language, for the entrants graduated from the English language major or learning entirely in English, English language proficiency is not requested. In other cases, learners must have English Certificate of TOEFL iBT from 79 and above or IELTS Certificate (Academic) from 5.5 and above. For Theory and and Methodology of English language teaching major, learners are required IELTS Certificate (Academic) from 6.5 and above delivered by an Educational Testing Service which is Internationally recognized within 02-year (24-month) term up to the registration date of enrollment.
